Sometimes you might see that Avast is blocking your program or website. Usually, the best solutions is to inform Avast about false positive. However, if you want to solve this on your side, you can add exception to Avast firewall to stop it from blocking a program or website.
How to add exceptions to Avast 2017
Allow a program through Avast
- Open Avast interface
- Go to Settings
- On general tab locate Exclusions
- Enter either file path or use browse to locate the file
- Confirm with OK to save preference
Stop Avast from blocking a website
- Head to Exclusions (Step 3 above)
- Click on URLs tab
- Enter URL you want to exclude from blocking
- Confirm with OK
Please not, that this will exclude program or website from being scanned by Avast and the file will be excluded from Avast shields as well. Don’t do this unless you are sure that this is desired behaviour.

What if Avast exclusions aren’t working?
Sometimes it might happen that exclusions you have set for Avast are not working. Besides adding program or website to global exclusion list, there is also possibility to exclude file or website only from Avast scanning.
If Avast exclusions are not working for you, try to add global exclusion from tutorial above.
